Manage the day-to-day production activities of the mine by providing direction and leadership to assigned work group. The Quarry Supervisor serves as a liaison between plant management and the hourly workforce while ensuring that daily / shift goals related to safety, quality and productivity are consistently met. The Quarry Supervisor is also accountable for ensuring that their work team is adequately trained and prepared to perform their tasks in a safe and efficient manner. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the mine plan adheres to the highest health and safety standards for the mining crews and works closely with the mine planning team to ensure compliance with the long-term mine plan. Responsibilities include setting and achieving Continuous Improvement goals in KPIs, promoting safety awareness and compliance, ensuring company safety inspections and procedures are completed, managing daily/shift priorities, evaluating manpower utilization and production rates, ensuring effective employee relations, providing coaching and development, enforcing company safety rules and policies, managing performance measurement, ensuring safe and efficient operation of mobile equipment, working with Continuous Improvement personnel to implement process improvements, and performing other duties as assigned. Attributes required include leadership experience, ability to work any shift including on-call and overtime, ability to improve working conditions and increase team skills, ability to assist Plant Manager in production control and safety, good communication and problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, with SAP knowledge a plus. Physical demands include working in severe weather, exposure to noise, dust, and industrial conditions, ability to access all plant locations including heights and confined spaces, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Required education is a High School Diploma or GED, with AA degree or equivalent work experience desired. Preferred education is a BS Degree in Engineering, Geology, or related field. Required experience is 2-4 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, construction, or mining/mineral processing. Preferred experience includes previous lead or team lead roles and mining experience.
